To Stroll(er) or Not to Stroll(er) at Disney... That is the Question

Many people ask whether strollers are a good idea when visiting a Disney Park.  A couple of questions can help determine if a stroller is right for your family, and if so, where to get the stroller that's best for you!

Do you have a young child that uses a stroller at the mall or when on longer walks at home?  If so, you definitely will want a stroller at Disney Parks!

How about the "in between" ages?  I'd suggest a stroller for kids up to age 6 or 7.  Many families walk 10 miles or more in a day at a Disney Park, and that can be tough on little legs.  Plus, there is no tired like Disney tired!  Be prepared, save their energy a bit, and enjoy the trip a little bit more without tired kids.

There are three common ways to obtain a stroller...

1. Bring your own.   This can be less than ideal if flying (possible damage by airlines) or traveling by car due to space constraints.  If you think you'll want it in the airport, bringing your own may be a good option.  This is certainly the most economical choice.

2. Rent at the park.  This is almost never my preferred choice.  Long lines right upon entering the park, not having the stroller for the walk to your room at the end of the night, high costs, and comfort are all reasons to avoid in-park strollers.  This is the type of stroller Disney offers - $16 for a single and $33 for a double daily.

3. Rent through a stroller rental company.  I HIGHLY recommend Kingdom Strollers.  Kingdom, and other preferred Disney providers can drop strollers at Disney Resort Bell Services and have them waiting before your arrival.  Upon departure, you leave the stroller with Bell Services and go on your way.  Their most common stroller is the City Mini - it's light, convenient, and folds easily.  Singles start at $45 for three nights, Doubles for $55 for three nights!
